CURRICULUM MAP 2015-2016

Year 7

Term 1

Unit 1a = French focus on Transition unit (greetings), Unit 1b = French on Family (members of family, descriptions, opinions), Unit 1c = RE focus on Sikhism transition unit, respecting family, the elders, religious expectations (Baisaki Festival), Unit 1d = GD focus on rules and peace (10 Commandments, World Peace day) + contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 2

Unit 1a = French focus on Homelife revision of talking about family members living at home and pets, descriptions of rooms at home, description of house, location, routine, activities at home, to be helpful at home, opinions), Unit 1b = RE focus on Buddhism (garden, spirituality + meaning of Christmas), Unit 1c = GD focus on Universal Children's Day + contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 3

Unit 1a = French focus on Hometown (location, places in town, activities, opinions, timetable, transport), Unit 1b = RE focus on Sikhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam (places of worship), Unit c = GD focus on Fairtrade Fortnight / unicef day for change + contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 4

Unit 1a = French focus on Hobbies (sports, places, activities, timetable, opinions, TV programmes), Unit 1b = RE focus on Sikhism, Christianity, Judaism and Islam (holy Books, how to value things), Unit 1c = GD focus on World book Day (European focus) contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 5

Unit 1a = French focus on Food and drinks in other countries (ordering food, drinks, menus, equipment, recipes, quantities, likes and dislikes Unit 1b = RE focus on religious festivals, diets (Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam, Hinduism), GD focus on Harvest festival, Sukkot and World Food Day, Unit 1c = GD focus on cultural diversity + contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 6

Unit 1a = French focus on Holidays (places, town, countries, languages, activities, opinions, timetable transport, booking hotel, campsites, facilities, directions around town and in a train station, buy train tickets) + Environment (eco codes, places in the world, climate, weather, seasons), Unit 1b = RE focus on religious summer festivals (Buddhism, Christians, Hinduism) and the environment (Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism) + RE focus on Environment issues, duties to look after planet earth in Holy scriptures  (Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, Hinduism),, Unit 1c = GD focus on Gypsy Roma history + GD focus on biological diversity, Climate change, Garden project+ contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

 

Year 8

Term 1

Unit 1a = French focus on Food and Drinks in other Countries (ordering food, drinks, menus, equipment, recipes, quantities, likes and dislikes), Unit 1b = RE focus on religious festivals, diets (Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam, Hinduism), GD focus on Harvest festival, Sukkot and World Food Day + contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 2

Unit 1a = French focus on Shopping (colours, articles of clothing, sizes, opinions, directions in shops, prices), Unit 1b = RE focus on Langar, offerings in temples (Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism), Unit 1c = GD focus on Fairtrade Fortnight, what to spend money on, Abolition of slavery, modern day slavery (Fairtrade) + contacts with international partners + contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 3

Unit 1a = French focus on Communication (TV channels and programmes,  timetable, opinions, styles of music, equipment used for communicating, conversation at the post office, places in the world), Unit 1b = RE focus on Prayers, Hymns, Respect, Muslim prayers, (washing ceremony), Unit 1c = GD focus on Martin Luther King / UNICEF day for change + contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 4

Unit 1a =French focus on education, life at school (routine at school, likes and dislikes, future studies etc…) +Unit 1b = religious studies about duties and guidance+ contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 5

Unit 1a =French focus on Employment (jobs for pocket money, jobs for a career, salary, places at work, opinions), Unit 1b = RE focus on 6 world religions around a fair world - fair salary for work for project around fairtrade with international partners contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 6

Unit 1a =  Spanish focus (revisions on numbers, days, greetings +),  Unit 1b = Spanish focus on Family (members of family, descriptions, opinions), Unit 1b = RE focus on Rites of passage, on Human relationship and Christianity(parables, Love yourself, love your neighbour),  Unit c = GD focus on conflicts and reconciliation, Holocaust memorial,  Unit 1c = GD focus on Anti-bullying week, Pink Day, European day of languages contacts with our international partners for on-going project on respect for global citizenship work with European partners and Fairtrade with international school partners

Term 2

Term 4

Term 5
