Goldwyn is Local Authority maintained secondary-phase co-educational specialist provision for students with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. We are designated to accommodate 150 students in total across our Key Stage 3 and 4 settings (inclusive of Goldwyn Ashford, Goldwyn Folkestone and Goldwyn Plus), with an additional designation of 45 students for Goldwyn Sixth Form.
In order to be considered for a place at Goldwyn, students must have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with their identified Primary Area of Need being SEMH or Autism, and naming specialist provision (as school type).
Alongside SEMH needs, our students may also be diagnosed with (or have undiagnosed traits of) Autism, ADHD, OCD, Anxiety, sensory processing needs and social communication needs.
Prior cognitive assessments place students with at least average to high cognitive functioning (generally working at age-expected levels or above) on entry, with attainment gaps no greater than 2 years below their chronological age.
All enquiries or referrals for placement to Goldwyn and Goldwyn Sixth Form are made solely via formal submission of papers by Local Authority Special Educational Needs Departments.
