Our School Council
At Goldwyn School, the School Council plays a vital role in shaping the life and direction of our school. Each of our centres has an active School Council that meets termly, ensuring that student voice is heard, valued, and acted upon at every level.
In Terms 2, 4, and 6, representatives from each site come together as one unified, whole-school council. This powerful group brings together ideas, experiences, and perspectives from across our community—truly representing the voice of our young people. We do not underestimate the importance of this group; their influence is real, meaningful, and impactful.
The School Council has directly contributed to key developments across the school, including:
- Shaping our school values and reward trips
- Influencing school uniform design
- Contributing to curriculum trips and enrichment experiences
- Helping select reading materials
- Supporting the development of our forest school and outdoor provision
Most recently, School Council members have worked alongside senior leaders to take part in learning walks, providing feedback on how our “golden thread” is experienced across the school. This reflects the trust we place in our students as partners in quality assurance and school improvement.
We are incredibly proud of our School Council and grateful for their commitment, insight, and leadership. Together, they help us to build a school that truly reflects the needs, voices, and ambitions of our students.
